AFTERCARE

After you uncover your tattoo:

Second skin - (Maximum 4 days.)

Wash your tattoo with gentle liquid unscented soap, gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.

Repeat this process (2/3 x) for the first (24hrs)

Do not recover your tattoo.

After (24hrs) begin to apply a very thin layer of gentle, unscented hand cream. Apply (30mins) after washing, do this twice a day, or as needed. Do not over moisturize your tattoo.

Keep your tattoo clean, away from pets, dirty bedding and towels. Avoid tight clothing, perfumes, and or other irritants. Prevent fabrics from rubbing against your tattoo.

Avoid all direct sunlight always, and do not submerge your tattoo in bathtubs, pools, lakes or rivers for at least three weeks.

Never scratch or pick your tattoo during the healing process. This will almost certainly lead to an infection.

14-DAY HEALING TRACKER

Phase 1: The Fresh Window (Days 1-3)

• Day 1: Keep your wrap on for the time discussed.

Only remove if leaking, peeling, developing a rash or other concerns develop.

• Day 2-4: Check your wrap and tattoo 2-3 times

daily for leaks, rashes or any other issues.

Phase 2: The Peeling Phase (Days 4-7)

• Day 4-5: Remove the wrap and wash your tattoo thoroughly with gentle, unscented soft soap, no bar soap. Gently pat dry with a new, clean paper towel. Repeat (2 x daily) for 24/48hrs, no product or cream. The tattoo will start to feel tight and itchy. Do not pick or scratch. Begin to use a fragrance-free lotion.

• Day 6-7: You may see "ink flakes" peeling off (like a sunburn). This is normal! Continue moisturizing 2-3 times a day. Do not pick your tattoo!

Phase 3: The Deep Heal (Days 8-14)

• Day 8-10: The peeling should be mostly finished. The skin might look slightly shiny or "silver" (silver skin). This is the new skin protecting the ink.

• Day 11-14: Keep up the lotion. The tattoo is settled, but the deeper layers are still healing. Avoid direct Alberta sun and no soaking in water (tubs/pools) yet!

NOTE: These results can and will definitely vary depending on the individual and environmental factors…
